Emily Burchell, UK: Laughter Yoga Helped Me Discover Myself . While attending a mindset event in 2018, I met a lady who told me of her experience of Laughter Yoga, which inspired me to attend a Laughter Yoga leader training and that was the best thing that I ever did.
At the training, they found me very serious and said I needed to laugh and have more fun. But this was not always the case with me. When I was 17, I went to Japan to perform as a professional singer/dancer. I also had the responsibility of overseeing dancers from different countries as well as choreographing dances. This was a huge responsibility for me, but I was confident and determined and had no fear of anything. Unfortunately, as I grew, I lost my identity and who I truly was. I didn’t think I would ever get it back, but Laughter Yoga really helped me. The support and encouragement from my fellow laughter buddies gave me back my passion, drive and desire to want to be me again.
Not only did Laughter Yoga change my life and perspective; it motivated me to help others to further themselves in their life and career, so I completed my Laughter Yoga Teachers training in Bangalore under Dr Madan Kataria. I feel extremely privileged and honoured for this experience and opportunity in my life and I am really looking forward to my future.
