As part of the worldwide growing trend of Laughter Yoga, it has been successfully introduced in the University of Alberta Hospital, Canada according to a recently published report in St. Albert Gazette. Pamela Brett-Maclean, the co-director of the Arts & Humanities in Health & Medicine Program (AHHM) explained the reasoning behind starting up the sessions was nothing to laugh at. The motive, she said, was to offer a class "that would energize and rejuvenate faculty, staff, residents and students." In other words, give the high-pressure world at the university a break.
