"Every child is an artist. The problem is how
to remain an artist once we grow up."

Pablo Picasso

I think we all know the answer to that one. I have also heard it said that most children hold the capacity for genius up until about the age of ten, which is when the conditioning process usually kicks into high gear.

Genius being the capability of accessing creative processing as well as analytical. Albert Einsteins' ability to imagine possibilities was backed up by his analytical capabilities which allowed him to develop complex theories.

Traditional schools of thought have tended to encourage "gifted" students in one direction or the other - rarely both.

Daniel Pinks' book - A Whole New Mind - captures something of the importance of holding both aspects of the thinking process equally. Forward thinking businesses are also awakening to the same idea.
