More and more is demanded and even expected from people in today’s
workplace, for a number of reasons that are beyond everybody’s
control. Globalization, increased competition, constant technical
innovation, the demands for "more cheaper", all lead to
excessive and prolonged exposure to feelings of "stress"
that take a tremendous financial and personal toll. The cost of
stress is such an established fact of corporate life that we even
have statistics for it:
- every year 300 billion dollars are spent in the USA alone in
stress-related compensation claims.
- it is estimated that in the UK work-related stress is responsible
for six million days of sick leave a year, with stress also being
linked to many minor and major illnesses
How do we solve this problem when we have little or no control
over a market environment that seems intend on stressing us out
into the grave?
Laughter Yoga is a unique method that helps the release of physical,
mental and emotional stress, all at the same time and in a positive
fashion, without harming anybody.
It is purely a physical method, not a mental practice. As such
anybody can do it because there is nothing required and nothing
to understand. It does not matter what language you speak, where
you come from, how challenged or stressed you may be. All of this
information is stored in your brain, which we don’t need here.
What happens when you manage to disconnect yourself from your mind
(which is instantly achieved in Laughter Yoga)? All of your self-defined
and self-imposed levels of stress, tensions, fears, inhibitions
and all other negative programming disappear. Laughing for no reason
forces you into the here and now where guilt, sadness, stress and
worries cannot exist.
Did you know that happiness can only be experienced in the present?
You can’t be happy now for yesterday, or tomorrow.
Add to this the fact that your brain will produce “happy”
chemistry, irrelevant of whether you laugh genuinely or not, and
before you know it your body forces your brain to relax and feel
good.
When stress disappears and people feel good, motivation and productivity
increase. You get:
- Renewed motivation, morale, and meaning at work
- Improved personal/professional performance
- Enhanced teamwork, trust, and fun at work
- Increased energy and resilience to stress
- Enriched quality of work/life balance
- Heightened workplace creativity and humor
- Enlightened and inspired organizations
- Enhanced retention through recognition
- Elevated enthusiasm and involvement with interactive sessions
- Deepened appreciation for internal and external customers
- Improved customer care and service delivery
- Decreased absenteeism, burnout, and turnover
- Alleviate your symptoms of stress, burnout, anxiety, panic attacks
- Improved productivity and organization
