Laughter Yoga has definitely changed my life. In fact, you can say it saved my life. I first became aware of Dr. Kataria’s work through a patient who said to me, “When you made me laugh, you saved my life!” At the time, I was being treated for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and taking two different anti-depressant Serotonin uptake inhibitors, as well as seeing a therapist thrice a week. I was functional, but barely managing and holding on to my work as a physician and my family. Later, I met Dr. Kataria and took the basic Laughter Leader course. Highly inspired, on returning from the training, I started my own Laughter Club in Manhattan which meets every Monday. Laughter Yoga really helped me cope with my PTSD and I now feel so much better and more joyful.
