The last few years, I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. It is a disease when the pain migrates all the time. It hurts your hands, legs, the neck, and the knees – There is constant stiffness, fatigue, aching or shooting pains. I was hospitalized early this year and the tests results showed an index of rheumatoid factor 299.7, when the rate should be 20. And so the stiffness, pain and lack of energy persisted. Later, the index “jumped “to 712 at a rate of 20, and I was hospitalized the second time, which also did not give substantial relief.
Even as the regular medication and treatment continued, I chanced upon Dr. Madan Kataria and his wife Madhuri Kataria, who introduced me to Laughter Yoga. Before that, I had used some techniques of laughter in my work in the Women's School “Lakshmi”. But, Laughter Yoga taught me about the inner spirit and the amazing power of LAUGHTER!
I went to the workshop and trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader and since continued to laugh. It was a turning point of my life. In fact, for the first time my doctor was really surprised, as in just two months of laughing on a regular basis, my index of rheumatoid factor "fell" 6 times, and was 129.5 at the rate of 20!
Highly motivated, I further trained as laughter teacher. I realized that laughter is something that is always with us. It is a natural reaction. You just have to laugh and you'll see how it heals - physically, mentally and emotionally. Even your karma is cleansed because of positive thoughts.
So, here’s the new recipe for good health: LAUGHTER, 10-15 minutes per day! Ha ha ha …
