Laughter Yoga has proved to be a great stress buster for people pursuing high pressure, high tension professions. Construction work is one such line of work where builders have to deal with people from various strata which include laborers, contractors, suppliers, vendors etc. There is a lot of mental and physical strain which at time leads to stress and frustration.
For builders, meeting time deadlines and coping with financial predicaments is a big challenge. Laughter Yoga is an easy way to get rid of all of this as it is the only exercise that relieves mental, physical, and emotional stress simultaneously. It releases endorphins in the brain which help to keep the mood state positive, and coupled with deep breathing; it also helps to bring in more oxygen to the body and brain, thereby improving overall performance and providing a complete body-mind wellness.

About 40 building industry professionals belonging to The Certified Builders Association of New Zealand Conference let their hair down, threw their self-consciousness to the wind and generally had a great time in a Laughter Yoga class conducted by Paraparaumu Laughter Yoga teacher Lynda Andrews.
The participants did various laughter exercises as well as learnt some relaxing and breathing exercises. There was plenty of laughing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Tony Longhurst, attending the conference said, "It's important to be able to laugh at ourselves and our partners."
"It is certainly a unique part of the conference but by the look of all the smiles in the room everyone had a good time," Mr. Longhurst said. During the hour-long session, Ms Andrews had the participants were clapping, throwing their hands in the air and working up a bit of a sweat, before relaxing with breathing exercises.
